I'm really glad to be in the new year. I don't want any more snow. It was wonderful before Christmas, my husband and daughter made a wonderful snowman, and shortly after that I got a call from my cake lady frantically saying she had a cake to deliver to a venue in the middle of nowhere for a wedding at 1pm, all the roads were un-gritted and as I had a 4x4 she wanted me to help her deliver it. Luckily we delivered the cake without a hitch, it was on the way back that the car started to slide uncontrollably and I was inches away from crashing into the car in front of me!
I also think the cold weather has had another unexpected consequence, lots of pregnant brides! I think we had more expectant mums in the shop on Saturday than Blooming Marvelous! Definitely something to do with all those cold nights in! I also think the venues are doing great last minute deals so quite a few brides are opting to get married before their babies are born.
We are offering a 10% discount on all menswear hire booked before the 28th February and it seems to be proving very popular with the guys. We also do kilts and we've hired one to a little boy who was only two years old, he looked so cute.
Our fashion show is now in its 10th year and has become so well know I've actually had mums phoning asking what date it was going to be before we had even decided ourselves. This year it's on Sunday the 28th February at the Marks Tey Hotel Colchester. Show times are 11am and 1.30pm, so click here for free tickets. I really enjoy the fashion show, it's great to see all the outfits modelled and there's always such a great atmosphere.
